iTero Impression Scanner

At The Dental Office in Sault Ste. Marie, we use the iTero Impression Scanner to help plan your Invisalign treatment, and show you what your final results will look like.

What is the iTero Impression Scanner?

Before Invisalign treatment begins, the iTero Impression Scanner will take highly accurate, 3D impressions of your bite. This intraoral camera allows us to adjust your treatment in real-time, store data digitally, and show you how your Invisalign results will look by the end of treatment.

How does it work?

We will begin by using the iTero wand to scan each quadrant of your jaw. This process is comfortable for the patient and allows us to capture highly accurate images of each tooth.

Next, we will perform a full bite scan so that we can get an accurate idea of your malocclusion (when your top and bottom teeth do not fit together properly).

Finally, we send the complete model to Align Technologies so that they can begin to create your custom-fit aligners.

We also use the Invisalign Outcome Simulator to create a simulation of how your teeth will look once the Invisalign treatment is complete.
