Your First Visit

Upon Arrival

On the day of your first appointment with us, please arrive about 10 minutes early so that you have time to fill out the necessary intake forms. You'll wait for your appointment in our bright, modern reception area, where you'll find plenty of up-to-date reading materials and comfortable seating.

To simplify your visit, you may also fill out our New Patient Form online* prior to your appointment.

Comprehensive Exam

Your first appointment will take up to 90 minutes. You and your dentist will start by discussing your medical history and your goals for your oral health. Your dentist will then complete a thorough exam of your gums, teeth, bite and jaws. This will include a series of x-rays, photos, and oral cancer screening.

Treatment Plan

Based on your medical history, your initial discussion and the exam, your dentist will develop a comprehensive, personalized dental treatment plan for you. Throughout the appointment, the dentist or hygienist will also take the time to answer your questions about your dental health and treatment options.

FAQs

Read these frequently asked questions to learn what to expect at your first visit to our dental clinic.

  • How can I book an appointment?

If you would like to book a dental appointment, please contact our office during our regular business hours. If you prefer, you can also book your next appointment while you're here at the office.

  • How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call us or talk us in person, rather than emailing. The sooner you let us know about the change of plans the better. Knowing well in advance will allow us to open up the space in our schedule for another patient.

  • Do you offer appointment reminders?

In the days before your appointment, you will receive automated appointment reminders from us by either phone or email. If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, please call us as soon as possible to let us know.

  • Do you offer direct insurance billing?

At The Dental Office, we accept most insurance plans. On your first appointment, please bring your insurance information with you, and we will be happy to submit your claim to your insurance company directly.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

We offer flexible payment plans based on individual needs to help our patients get the care they need on a budget that works for them.

  • Do you provide services in any language other than English?

Yes, we can provide our dental services in Italian as well.

  • Do you offer evening or weekend hours?

We know that scheduling dental appointments during regular working and school hours can sometimes be difficult for our patients. We offer evening and weekend office hours so that you can get the dental care you need on a schedule that works for you. Our office hours are as follows:

    • Monday: 08:30 am - 05:00 pm
    • Tuesday: 08:30 am - 05:00 pm

    • Sunday: Closed

  • My family is pressed for time. Can we book our appointments at the same time?

Of course! We are happy to accept whole-family appointment booking for your convenience. Just contact our office, and we'd be happy to arrange a time that works for everyone.

  • Fillings are indicated when tooth health has declined and the teeth can no longer predictably repair themselves via conservative preventative measures such as fluoride. Fillings are a preventative service which helps limit the chance of tooth infection and pain.
